2008 beijing olympics has officially opened last august 8, 2008 (08/08/08). i was one of the lucky people who were able to watch the opening ceremony.

The 2008 Summer Olympic Games, officially known as the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, is a major international multi-sport event which is being celebrated in Beijing, People's Republic of China from August 8 (with football starting on August 6) to August 24, 2008 and followed by the 2008 Summer Paralympics from September 6 to September 17. 10,500 athletes are expected to compete in 302 events in 28 sports, one event more than was on the schedule of the 2004 games. The 2008 Beijing The 2008 Beijing Olympics will also mark the third time that Olympic events will have been held in the territories of two different National Olympic Committees (NOC), with the equestrian events to be held in Hong Kong.

very amusing sa akin ang opening ng olympics ngaun compared sa previous olympics na same boring production numbers ang ginagawa. masasabing talagang pinaghandaan ng china ang olympics ngaun. ibang klase talaga ang production number ng asians dahil sa rich ng culture + the fact na hindi din naman tayo pahuhuli sa technology lalo na ang china na magaling mag-duplicate ng mga technology (fyi: sabi ng kapatid ko na sa china ay walang patent kaya malaya silang nakaka pirate ng mga original na bagay). ang daming made in china sa opening ng beijing olympics! hehehehe XD
amazing masyado yung daming participants sa opening ceremony and yet nagawa nila yung performances na almost perfect. iniisip nga namin ng kapatid na siguro bawat magkamali ay me hampas ng yantok sa choreographer para magtanda. hehehe :D
favorite ko almost lahat ng ginawa nila pero 2 yung tumatak sa isip ko, yung countdown na ilaw tsaka yung human boxes printing (basta yung mukhang tetris). sobrang hindi ko alam kung paano nila nakukuha yung timing na sila na dapat eeksena. though me konting flaws cause nobody's perfect pero sa overall almost perfect yung pagkakagawa nila ng number nila. unbelievable! puro wow na lang yung nasasabi ko.
on the down side, sobrang polluted naman ng hangin ngaun sa beijing (ayon sa mapagkakatiwalaang source, amoy pulbura daw ang china) dahil na rin siguro meron pa silang dry-run para sa fireworks at ang pollution level nila ay mataas na ayon sa news, tsaka me smog na sila.
buti na lang wala akong pera papuntang china, tsaka mas ok talaga sa tv kasi kita mo lahat ng magandang angle (omniscient point of view :D) at hindi ka pa masusulasok sa pollution dahil sa fireworks. ^_^
